Terms of Use

Version 2026-10-21.

Draft. This page still has blanks (shown in [square brackets]) that the owner or a lawyer must complete before launch.

1. What autobids is, and what it isn't

autobids.in is an online platform operated by [Company name] ("autobids"). Sellers list their own vehicles and buyers make offers to those sellers. autobids is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

  • We do not buy, sell or own vehicles. Every vehicle on autobids is offered by its registered owner (or a person the owner has authorised), who is the seller. The contract of sale is between the buyer and the seller only.
  • We never take possession of any vehicle. We do not take custody of vehicles, keys or documents at any point. We do not store, transport, test-drive or deliver vehicles. Vehicles stay with their owners until the buyer and seller complete the sale between themselves.
  • We do not handle the sale price. Buyers pay sellers directly. autobids does not collect, hold or transfer the price of any vehicle. Fees paid to autobids (such as the buyer fee or optional mechanic visits) are for our services only.
  • Sellers set their own prices and decide whether to accept any offer. Price estimates shown by autobids are for information only.
  • Sellers are responsible for their listings. Each seller confirms that the photos, videos, details and documents they provide are true, current and belong to the vehicle listed.
  • Ownership transfer is between buyer and seller. That includes RC transfer (Forms 29/30), loan closure (Form 35), insurance transfer and any challans. autobids may provide checklists and templates to help.
  • We moderate listings. We review listings before they go live, can refuse or remove any listing or user that breaks our rules, and act on complaints under our Grievance Redressal policy.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract in India.
  • Your autobids ID is linked to your email address. Keep access to it secure.
  • Information you give us, including your name and documents, must be true and your own.
  • You may need to verify your identity before buying or selling.

3. Listing a car

  • You must be the registered owner, or authorised by them in writing, and have the right to sell the car.
  • Your listing must be accurate. Disclose accidents, flood damage, repainting, modifications and any loan on the car.
  • Listing is free. We take no commission from sellers. Optional services are charged as shown when you choose them.
  • A listing stays live until you sell or remove it. We may ask you to confirm availability, and may pause listings that don't respond.
  • We may refuse, edit or remove a listing that breaks these terms or the community guidelines.
  • Sellers also accept the Seller Terms.

4. Offers and buying

  • An offer is a statement that you intend to buy at that price if the car is as described. An offer stays open for 48 hours.
  • A seller may accept an offer, decline it, or hold their asking price.
  • Offers can be withdrawn until they are accepted.
  • All prices shown include the buyer fee. The seller receives the price they set.

5. Fees and refunds

  • The buyer fee is 3% of the agreed price. It's payable when a price is agreed, before seller details are shared.
  • If, after the buyer's personal inspection, the car isn't sold, we refund the fee.
  • If the car is sold, we keep the fee.
  • The price of the car is paid by the buyer to the seller directly. autobids doesn't hold it.
  • Fees are shown inclusive of taxes where applicable.
  • Details are in Refunds and Cancellations.

6. Inspection and condition

You should inspect any car and its documents in person before you pay. "Verified by autobids" describes a check of documents on a stated date; it is explained in the notice beside the badge. A missing tick means the check was not done. We don't guarantee a car's condition, history or value. An optional mechanic visit is an opinion, not a warranty.

7. What you must not do

  • List stolen cars, cars with forged papers, or cars you can't legally sell.
  • Share seller or buyer contact details to avoid the fee after being connected through autobids.
  • Make offers you do not intend to honour, use false accounts or harass others.
  • Scrape the site or interfere with its operation.

8. Messages

Chats between buyers and sellers are anonymous to each other. Phone numbers, emails and links are hidden until the seller accepts an offer. Our team can read chats to keep people safe and to look into complaints. See the Privacy Notice.

9. Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for the condition, legality or value of any car, for what buyers and sellers say or do, or for losses from a sale between them. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in connection with it. [Lawyer: confirm this wording.]

10. Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will tell you about material changes. You can close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Indian law. Courts in Delhi have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law. [Lawyer: confirm.]
