Operational in Delhi NCR only for now

Finalizing the sale

A price is agreed. Here is what happens next, for the buyer and the seller.

The sequence

  1. 1

    Seller accepts a price

The seller accepts an offer, or a buyer pays the asking price with Buy now.

  2. 2

    Buyer pays the autobids fee

The buyer pays the 3% fee and has verified their identity. This unlocks the seller and shows both sides are serious.

  3. 3

    We connect you

A member of our team calls both of you and arranges a time and place to meet, usually in Delhi NCR.

  4. 4

    Inspection

The buyer inspects the car and checks the papers. If they walk away, we refund the fee and the listing reopens.

  5. 5

    Payment to the seller

If the buyer is happy, they pay the seller directly for the price agreed. Use a bank transfer or banker's cheque, not a large cash payment.

  6. 6

    Paperwork and handover

Sign the transfer forms, hand over keys, documents and service records.

  7. 7

    Transfer completes

The buyer registers the car in their name at the RTO. Our paperwork service can do this for you.

Papers to exchange

  • Original RC, and the seller's photo ID matching it.
  • Form 29 (notice of transfer) and Form 30 (application for transfer), signed by both parties.
  • Valid insurance, plus the no-claim bonus details if the buyer wants it.
  • Pollution under control (PUC) certificate.
  • Form 35 and a bank NOC if the car was on loan, and proof the loan is closed.
  • Form 28 (NOC) if the car moves between states, which is common between Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Service records, both keys and the owner's manual.
Rules and fees differ by state and change over time. As a guide, the seller reports the sale to the RTO within about 14 days and the buyer applies to transfer the RC within about 30 days. Check with your RTO or use our transfer service.

Fees and refunds, plainly

  • Buyer fee: 3% of the price, paid before the seller is unlocked.
  • Refunded if the car isn't sold after the buyer's personal inspection.
  • Kept by autobids if the car is sold.
  • Sellers pay nothing to autobids from the sale price.

If the deal falls through

Tell us as soon as you know. We refund the buyer's fee if the sale doesn't go ahead after inspection, and the seller's listing goes back on the market and open for new offers.
